Some odds and ends...

Some how the subject of anal sex came up last night. I've made my feelings on this subject well know. There is no love in the butt.

But I completely disgusted a friend of mine when I mentioned that if you have anal sex without a condom wouldn't you get a little poop plug in your peehole. His reaction was fantastic. He is a bit of a fecalphobe. Now its healthy and normal to avoid shit. Yet, his aversion to shit is off of the scale. When I painted that mental picture for him it was like I poured fire ants down his shirt.

It was a sight to behold.

Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

"You'll be able to spit nails, kid. Like the guy says, you're gonna eat lightning and you're gonna crap thunder. You're gonna become a very dangerous person."
-Mickey (Rocky 1976)

I do this to torture you. I'm sorry but sometimes it just needs to be done.

Working For The Weekend by Loverboy

Everyone's watching, to see what you will do
Everyone's looking at you, oh
Everyone's wondering, will you come out tonight
Everyone's trying to get it right, get it right

Everybody's working for the weekend
Everybody wants a little romance
Everybody's goin' off the deep end
Everybody needs a second chance, oh
You want a piece of my heart
You better start from start
You wanna be in the show
Come on baby lets go

Everyone's looking to see if it was you
Everyone wants you to come through
Everyone's hoping it'll all work out
Everyone's waiting they're holding out

Everybody's working for the weekend
Everybody wants a little romance
Everybody's goin' off the deep end
Everybody needs a second chance, oh
You want a piece of my heart
You better start from start
You wanna be in the show
Come on baby lets go

(quick break)

You want a piece of my heart
You better start from start
You wanna be in the show
Come on baby lets go

You want a piece of my heart
You better start from start
You wanna be in the show
Come on baby lets go

Enjoy... I know this will be running through your head for the rest of the day.

Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

When I was in grade school at St. Paul's Elementary in Tell City, IN, I decided that I would like to be in the band. The only reason I can think of at the moment was that I wanted to play the clarinet because I had seen some show with Benny Goodman's orchestra and I liked the music I heard. I’ve always liked big band music.

Anyway, I went to the band meeting or whatever to sign up and when the band teacher asked me what instrument I wanted to play I told him the clarinet. He looked at me and after a pause told me that the clarinet was more of a girl’s instrument and suggested I play the trombone or trumpet.

I didn’t really understand this because the only person I’d ever remembered seeing play the clarinet was Benny Goodman. But I also felt like the teacher was calling me a girl if I didn’t pick something else.

Now the main reason I wanted to be in the band was to play the clarinet but I was about 10 or 11 and I suppose I had too much respect for authority figures and I didn’t call bullshit on him. So I picked the trombone which I gave up after it came to the time where we had to decide whether to buy it or keep renting the trombone.

I hadn’t thought about this for years and for some reason it popped into my head when I was talking to a friend of mine about the song, “Red River Valley”. I’m not going to explain where this comes in because I’m sure you all know how a conversation can go into all sorts of directions in any moment.

WOW! It’s 3:38AM and about 35 cops just drove by my house. I believe there is quite a car chase going on because I heard what sounded like metal grinding on the street just as the sirens started. Then I started to hear car after car go by so I looked out the window and police car after police car went by. I don’t think I’m exaggerating when I say 35 police cars.

Back to what I was talking about… That music teacher was a dick. How the fuck is a clarinet a girls instrument. It may be a nerd’s instrument but most people in the band are nerds. Me playing the trombone isn’t going to change that.

I’ve rambled on long enough…

Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

The problem is that nothing has happened recently that is worth examining.

Yesterday I talk about Fatboy Slim and today he is in the news.

Last years show did so well with 60,000 in attendace they decided to do it again this year. They were expecting another 60,000 crowd... WRONG! There were nearly a quarter of a million people there. It was so out of control that the trains were shut down and there was no traffic going in or out of Brighton. There were a few injuries including a man that had a heart attack and the only way they could get emergency services in was to use lifeboats and ride up to the beach.

I'd like to get a copy of that show. I hope it was a good one. From what I've read most people seemed to enjoy the show except for actions by the police trying to maintain order and considering the number of people there about 30 injuries isn't really that bad. There were only two serious injuries, the heart attack and a woman fell from promenade between two piers.

It would have been something to be see but I bet everyone was glad when they got home safely.

Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

Let's talk about good things in entertainment.

In the last couple of weeks I've been very happy in the varied forms of media. First of all, after a two year break from anything from Fatboy Slim, he released a live recording of a show he did at Brighton Beach. It's called, wait for it, Fatboy Slim Live On Brighton Beach. Norman Cook himself called it the best night of his life. If your a fan already, it is a must. Now I need to make it clear that this is not new material, its not even all of his material. Here's the list of tracks:
Born Slippy - Underworld (Nuxx); Right Here Right Now - Fatboy Slim; Austins Groove - Kid Creme; Southern Thing - Scanty; The Groovy Thang - Minimal Funk; Pray - Santos; The Talk - The Clumps; Where's Your Head At? - Basement Jaxx; Rocket Bass - Jark Prongo; Drop Some Drums - Love Tattoo; Put Your Hands Up - Black And White Brothers; 3-2-1 Fire! - Santos; Star 69 - Fatboy Slim; The Real Life - Raven Maize (Fatboy Slim Mix); Sunset (Bird of Prey) - Fatboy Slim; Phat Planet - Leftfield; Speak Lord (I Get Deep) - Roland Clark

Its not just his choice in music, but the way he mixes it together using samples from Salt 'n' Pepa, Queen and more. It makes me wish there was still a good club in town. I wish I could have been there.

I saw Road to Perdition today starring Tom Hanks and Paul Newman. Its very good. Its the best role Paul Newman has been in for years now. Its a gangster movie essentially but not a typical one. If you get a chance to see it, GO!

Lastly, I saw Robin Williams Live in New York City this evening and it was hilarious. Its been so long since he has done stand-up that I forgot Robin Williams is funny. Fuckin' funny. I was at the Mag with several other people when we watched it and the big show stopper was so funny I think everyone in the bar was laughing for a full minute straight. It was a perfect time to end the show, "Always leave them wanting more."

I'd love to tell you what he did but its best to see it on a repeat.

Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

You probably have notice a new look... that's because blogger somehow lost the template I was using for my site and I grabbed this one just so I could do my post tonight. This has somehow also messed up my archive in places. Which has pissed me off and it makes me want to move away from blogger even more.

If it wasn't for the fact that I had so much trouble trying to get a program called Moveable Type to work I'd already be using that.

Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.
