Well tonight is the night. I'll be working the door at the Mag Bar tonight. It's been two years.
I'm looking forward to it. I've been trying to figure out why I'm looking forward to it so much. It's not like its a dream job or anything. On the plus side I'll be hanging out with my friends in a place I like to go. Sometimes the job is boring, you have to put up with a bunch of drunks, you have to be there whether your having fun or not. It is actually a job. I don't think anyone would do it for free. Not for long anyway.
The only reason I can come up with, is that I enjoyed being the first guy my friends saw when they came in the bar. I felt that the regulars that came to the bar appreciated what I did and I've had several come up to me after I quit and tell me they wished I still worked there. I must also admit I liked being part of the bar and the guy that could kick you out. There are two people you don't want to piss off in a bar... The Bartender and The Bouncer. If you have to ask why then you should never go to a bar but especially not the Mag Bar.
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

Well I do like Neverwinter Nights but it wasn't enough to keep me from going out. I went to the Mag for an hour or two.
I do believe my friend Bill will soon be purchasing said game and he will also be in its meaty clutches.
I was talking to Bill about what I had said about "in some ways I wish I had never read" The Lord of The Rings. The reason I said, "in some ways..." was because I would never have given up the experience of reading the books and the urge to read as much as I could so I could find out what happened next and ultimately read the ending.
I was working at a drugstore as a stock boy. I was a sophomore and I’d go to work after school. There was this new pharmacist named Brad, who noticed the whole series including The Hobbit on the shelf next to the magazine section. He told me that they were very good books and I should at least read The Hobbit. I got the book and finished in 2 days probably. Which isn’t too bad for someone going to high school and a job after school.
I got the rest of the books soon after and had finished them all within a 2 week period. I loved them. I never really read much in high school unless it was assigned to be read. These books really got me into reading. Before the LOTR series, the idea of reading for fun was foreign to me. Don’t get me wrong I read some really good books in high school. The first one that comes to mind was the Animal Farm by Orwell. Yet, it was The Hobbit that got me into reading for pleasure.
I would never give up that experience to enjoy a movie a little more.
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

It may be a long time before you see me again. As I type this I am installing Neverwinter Nights on my other computer.
It's an RPG based on the rules for Dungeon & Dragons 3rd Edition rules. Many of my friends at work love the game. Many of the sites I go to that have some sort of video game theme, seem to love it.
I myself have never really been into the video game version of role playing games. I must admit that many moons ago I did have a regular D&D night where my friends got together to spend most of the night and early morning playing the table version.
So tomorrow I will be reporting back to you and either I will be hopelessly hooked or it will be like the few other RPG's I've tried and I will be wishing I never spent the money on it.
I'm skipping the bar tonight and staying home with this. It's around midnight at the moment. If I'm really hooked I may skip the bar tomorrow night also. Its really just too early to tell.
Even though it's not that late...
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

I am such a geek.
I just saw the teaser trailer for Lord of The Rings: The Two Towers. I am as excited about seeing the next movie as I was the first! It looks great. Here is a site with a list of mirror sites for the trailer.
All of the folks who were disappointed to see Gandalf die in the first movie will be pleasantly surprised to see Gandalf the Grey return as Gandalf the White. Yes, he’s ALIVE! Can you believe it?!
I hope you can sense the sarcasm. I’m trying to lay it on thick.
I realize that not everyone has read the books. In some ways I wish I had never read them so that I can enjoy the movie with fresh eyes. The advertising for the movie doesn’t seem to be assuming people haven’t read the book. If they were, you might think they would keep Gandalf’s return a surprise.
I’ve been having a problem with my laptop and I think I finally found out what the problem is. On occasion it would freeze up and the only way to fix it was to power cycle it. It would do it at least once ever couple of hours or so. By the way it’s a Compaq laptop. I know 4 other people that have this same laptop and they are all having the exact same problem. One of the guys has been sending it back and they supposedly fixed it but it just kept happening. Then this one guy I know took the extra memory chip out and its been fine ever since.
I have done the same thing. I still have 128MB of RAM so it still runs pretty well but it hasn’t frozen up since. Apparently they used a bunch of bad RAM.
I got a stable laptop environment. So I got that going for me.
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

Georgio says he's going to send some NYC thugs to give me a hard time Saturday when I work for Mario at the Mag Bar.
Which reminds me... Mario and I have been asked if I was going to be working Saturdays from now on. The answer is no! He just wanted a day off and I had offered to work for him sometime. This is a one shot deal. I enjoyed working at the Mag all of those years, I've got a lot of good stories and I've made a lot of good friends working there but I don't want to be commited to being there on a regular basis again.
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

Quote of the day from a female friend of mine, "I don't believe in lesbianism. It’s Un-American. Who wouldn’t like the dick?"
It’s been a good weekend, Nikki was in town for Krazyfest. I’ve sort have heard mixed reviews about this years festival. A few good bands and several mediocre bands and a bunch of lousy bands. The bands that were good were really good though, supposedly.
I didn’t go personally because the idea of standing in the sun in 90 degree temperatures with a heat index of 100 degrees with a bunch of other sweaty people doesn’t sound like a good time to me. There is very little shade down on the riverfront and I bet it was a scorcher today.
I think the sun is evil and should be stopped in our lifetime.
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

I heard a very interesting conversation today. It was about lesbians or more precisely, lesbian activity.
The two women that I was speaking with are heterosexual women who have experimented with same sex activities. I don’t want to imply that these women have ever experimented with each other. I have no idea about that.
I wish I had a tape recorder. I sat in the booth listening to them talk but I decided it was best to keep my mouth shut and just let them go on. My memory isn’t good enough to do the discussion justice but I’ll try to paraphrase.
Basically they said that girls were fun but it’s a bunch of foreplay and no dickin’. It just seemed to go on for too long. There didn’t seem to be a point when it’s over and they felt that it basically just ended up being frustrating.
Also apparently frottage is a very difficult thing to do correctly. “Ah… move your leg… ow… move your leg… ok you grind… ow… move your leg.”
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.
