(Note: sorry about the delay but I had trouble getting on last night because of some trick Bellsouth had to use their 800 number. The post was written at 3:30AM)

I’m here in New York and I’m drunk as Bacchus the god of wine and spirits. I pretty much have Georgio to thank for that. I think he was trying to kill me.

The shots at 7B are fuckin’ huge. Fuckin’ HUGE. At least 2 shots and most of the shot Georgio gave me were actually 3 shots/

Let me try to start from the beginning…

I showed up a little early at Tina’s because I was so excited to go. Anyway we got a ride from her friend other friend named Gary and everything went pretty smoothly except Tina had some security guard go through ALL of her stuff because she had a pair tweezers. I had to take my steel toe boots off of course but that didn’t take very long compared to Tina.

The flight was pretty much boring except for a couple of rough landings. We ended up in Newark about 8:30 but by the time we got a shuttle van we got to the Chelsea about 10:30PM. The ride from the hotel to the Chelsea was the most stressful part of the trip. Most of the roads were torn up and traffic was pretty chaotic. I thought for sure the van was going to wipe out a couple of guys on bicycles.

After we checked into the Chelsea we went and grabbed slices of pizza from this place down the street. We went to the curb and we weren’t sure how to call a cab. In Louisville they won’t stop for you. I had a cabbie wave back at me once. I simply raised my hand and we had a cab in 10 seconds.

7B is truly the Mag Bar of New York. The place has the same exact vibe as the Mag Bar. I kept expecting people to walk in that I knew. The jukebox was great and Georgio treated me real well. I only know him from emails and it was almost like we were good friends. His girlfriend Rachel (sp?) was really cool and they all treated me like I had been going there for years.

You know I could probably go on but I’m drunk and I think I’m going to go out on our fire escape and have a smoke and enjoy the city for a few minutes. I’m going to skip the link of the day because I’m on 56K and I’m not going to spend the time on it.

Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

Dodd put up his response to the article I linked to yesterday. I enjoyed it, but I'm still not convinced that the galaxy will be better off with the Rebels. The galaxy is a big place and the only thing holding the Empire together was the power of the Emperor. After he was killed off by Vader and Luke, the Rebellion has succeeded but they only really have control over their small section of space. The rest of the galaxy is broken up into sections run by “governors” who have their own fleets and armed forces. The death of the Emperor and the lack of any leader with enough power to keep the governors in line will cause wars throughout the galaxy; each governor trying to expand his sphere of influence.

Anyway…

I’m heading to New York City today and I will try to keep the site updated from the road. It should be no problem but if I skip a day I probably had a good reason. Most likely I’ll only post one pic each day until I get back and then I may do a bigger layout. I’ll have to do this shit on a 56K and I’m not looking forward to it.

Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

mrquicknet: I think you'll like this article. http://www.weeklystandard.com/Content/Public/Articles/000/000/001/248ipzbt.asp
TKing: put an end to this ceaseless struggle and bring ORDER to the galaxy!!!
mrquicknet: He is a caring nurturer.
TKing: lol
mrquicknet: I do see his point though. The Senate in Episode 1 was very ineffectual. I big bloated beaurocracy (sp?)
TKing: truly
TKing: I like the article
TKing: and as a dungeon master, i secretly like the empire
TKing: what's not to like, big military, huge infrastructure, snappy uniforms, great ships
TKing: too many gay British officers though
mrquicknet: I also liked his point about blowing up Alderaan and how Leah was probably lying her ass off. She lied about everything else why wouldn't she lie about the planets defenses.
TKing: Alderann had no weapons... but there was a secret ship that had all of their weapons on it on a random hyperspace jump pattern
mrquicknet: That is outside if the Star Wars Movie information. Therefore not definite for the purposes of the article.
mrquicknet: That was part of the extended universe
TKing: actually its from George's notes
TKing: so although its from outside the movies, is nto Expanded Uni stuff
TKing: but of course i am biased
TKing: and unabashedly geeky
mrquicknet: So that hyperspace plan didn't really work out for them.
mrquicknet: As a matter of fact the idea of doing that is so ridiculous I can barely believe it.
mrquicknet: Why would you want to have a store of weapons but none very handy when you really need them.
TKing: truly did not, it was Bail Organa who did it.. and the name of the ship...
TKing: Another Chance
TKing: not that they stood a chance against a Death Star
mrquicknet: You know what I'm saying though, right.
TKing: yes
mrquicknet: Its a horrible battle plan.
TKing: and with the only person who knew its coordinates space dust....
TKing: so somewhere out there is a ship....with a planet's worth of weapons...
TKing: I am watching the original trilogy again
TKing: it makes me feel all warm inside
mrquicknet: But the guy's point was that even if it was true, Alderaan being weaponless, Leah lied about every other piece of information. Why should the Empire or even the movie audience believe she was telling the truth?
mrquicknet: Telling the truth on that one piece of info.
TKing: she was a terrorist in a sense
mrquicknet: true dat
TKing: we should believe her because she was so emphatic
mrquicknet: Traitor/spy
TKing: lol
mrquicknet: :-D
mrquicknet: I' think I'm going to cheer for the dark side when I see the movie
TKing: lol
mrquicknet: Except for when Yoda is fighting
TKing: Go Vader!
TKing: yeah, Yoda is great
TKing: “Open a can I will “
mrquicknet: “Open a can I will, of whoop-ass, yes hmmm. “
TKing: “always in motion is the whoop ass”

Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

'Monster': the featherless chicken is the scariest thing I've seen in a long time.

I'm not sure if I would eat this kind of chicken or not. Every time I look at the picture of the chicken it fuckin' scares the shit out of me. It looks horrific that I almost wonder if it's a fake.

I don't really have a problem with genetically enhanced foods, especially plants, but when you see some freak of nature animal walking around its very disconcerting. How would you like to see a hairless cow with a head the size of a golf ball and with teats so big that she couldn’t walk?

I think I would prefer to save the genetic engineering for plant life.

Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

So yesterday I didn't really have anything to talk about and now today I have quite a bit.
On the way to work I got a flat tire. Two weeks ago I had a flyer in my hand with a tire special and I was really going to get new tires because they were about shot.

I’m changing the flat tire about a mile from work. So I spent my lunch getting all of my tires changed. $225 for four new tires, which really isn’t that bad it’s just bad timing.

Tina, Cyrus and I are going to New York this weekend and we’re trying to pull plans together. One place I have to go to is this place that was recommended to me. I’ve been exchanging emails with these two guys from New York for a while now. One of the guys referred to it as the Mag Bar of NYC. That is an assumption on his part because that's based on the way I have described the Mag Bar here on this page. It’s call 7B. Here are a couple of reviews of this place: one & two

City Search’s audience voted it the bar with the best Jukebox. That sounds like the Mag Bar. One of the bad reviews from the Digital City site goes like this:
on Sunday May 21, 2000 at 08:16 PM:
The jukebox is better than most, the cider is good and cheap..but the soap oprea of the locals in pathetic. If you're feeling blue, it is a good place to go & people watch, you'll feel better about yourself by last call.

If that doesn’t resemble the Mag Bar I don’t know what does.

I’ve already mentioned some of the other things we’re planning on doing but I can tell you I’m really looking forward to it.

Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

This has been a fairly entertaining evening even though nothing really special happened.

I went to a friend’s birthday party for a bit, which was fairly entertaining. I went to the Mag and the conversation was a little odd but enjoyable. It started off with me hearing Danny tell this story about how he was suddenly hit with the urge to take a dump in the middle of his workout and how he just barely made it to the toilet.

Then Matt, Danny, Silent Dave and I had a heated discussion/debate on whether this particular stretch of road next to these railroad tracks was one-way or two-way. It went on for about a half an hour. Now you may think that this would be boring but it was actually pretty entertaining. In away it reminded me of like some scene in a movie where there are four old guys arguing about what’s the best way to drive from point A to point B.

There was also this little incident at the bar where these two girls tried to walk out with drinks and then seemed to get pissed when they got taken out of their hands. Apparently they thought the bar glasses were free.

That was fun for a bit but then it was time to go home and watch some more Sopranos. I started watching the first season again and it just keeps getting better.

Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.
