“Her head hung in shame, Olga’s dark brown eyes welled with tears. She brushed back her long black hair, revealing a fair complexion flushed with anger at her fate. “There is only one word for this,” she said. “Slavery.””

Is this a quote from some romance novel?

How about this one:

“It was midnight on a Friday and the carnival of horrors was open for business. Maks, a swaggering pimp in this drab town notable only for its endless strip of bordellos, appeared at the hotel room door with an adolescent girl in tow. “This one is my youngest,” he said.”

Nope. They are quotes from this two part story complete with video, about European Sex Slaves on MSNBC. Preston Mendenhall wrote this story about the sex slave trade in Europe, especially the Czech and Slavic regions. Basically Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Romania and Yugoslavia.

I feel that this is a horrible situation but I think that the way Mr. Mendenhall introduces the story he is exploiting these women also. The title of the first part is SEX SLAVES IN EUROPE. Part two is called One Night in Velesta. The reason this story is running now is that its sweeps month and they are trying to drum up viewers so that they can charge advertisers more money.

If his story helps these women then I think its great but I will still feel that it’s a little shady way to do business.

Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

Young ones was on BBC America. Its been years since I've seen that show. It also happen to be one of the better episodes. It was called Boring and it had Madness doing House of Fun.

I have a couple of subject to talk about but for some reason I can't really explain I'm more tired than I should be and more tired than normal.

If you haven't been here in a while make sure you check out the forum I've added. Fun Stuff.

Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

One week to go. Thursday May 9th.

Things are shaping up nicely. I know of about 15 women who plan on helping to make my birthday wish come true. If you're just joining us, my birthday wish is for every woman I know and any that I don't know to come to the Mag Bar next Thursday dressed as catholic school girls. To help me celebrate the day of my birth.

Last week when I mentioned this I got this email:

Dear Mr. Quick,
Keep in mind that nobody else cares about your birthday, when it is, or what
you're going to do. That was over when we're about 11. Get over it.

Now before you write me to back me up, I sent him a reply and he actually apologized. The main reason I'm posting the letter is to fill a little space and bring more attention to next Thursday :-)

I did a little investigating by doing a few searches with his email address and then I sent my reply. My reply basically consisted of telling him that I didn't expect someone from Chicago to give a rat's ass about me but I have enough friends here that do care and thats why I keep mentioning it. To prove my point I've had several guys claim that they will come dressed as catholic school girls also.

My response to them is that you can do whatever you want, have fun.

The more I think about it, I think the number one reason I'm looking forward to this is the whole surreal aspect to this. I think it will be a great spectacle. A bar filled with women dressed as catholic school girls. All night people will be asking what's going on. OO! OO! OO! I just had a great idea! If someone asks what's going on, play dumb.
Just picture it:
"What's going on with the outfits?"
"What do you mean?"
"Well why are most of the women dressed as catholic school girls?"
"Is this the first time you've been here? We always dress this way. Our Mother of Sacred Spirits is down the street."

Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

I got home from the Mag and I turned on the TV. I started to watch this documentary about the German Jewish children and how many of them were smuggled out of Germany during WWII. They were taken care of by English foster parents. It was fairly interesting and I watched it for a bit. I started to wonder what else was on. I flipped over to Showtime and Real Sex was on and this woman was teaching a class to a group of women on how to give hand jobs and blow jobs. It was sort of like a Tupperware party for how to handle dick.

So I'm watching these women give hand jobs to dildos and I'm thinking to myself, "Do I want to learn about how these children were spirited out of Germany? About their families that were lost? About the prejudice they faced as Germans in wartime England? Do I want to learn about the few children who were lucky enough to be reunited with there parents, who by this time they really didn’t know anymore?

Or…

Do I want to watch women simulate hand jobs and blow jobs on dildos?

Could I be that shallow? Is the decision really so difficult?

Ok, I watched the Real Sex Head Teacher story until it was over. But then I switched back to the documentary I swear!

Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

I'm actually pretty impressed. In the three days that the forum has been open we have a total of 9 topics with 87 posts. This is with 27 registered members.

I'm very pleased. Last night my web host had some sort of problem and my site went down for about 20 minutes or so. I though for a second that I had some how fucked up and the forum had some how screwed up my space. Apparently, my host had a "moment" and fixed the problem with a quickness. I had noticed the forum crawling and I was glad to find that everything was running better after they fixed whatever was wrong.

Matt and I have been having a pretty good discussion about video games vs free speech in the forum. I've gotten to the point I think he is just arguing for the fun of it. Sort of like the Arguement Clinic sketch on the Monty Python show.

I'll try not to refer to the forum every friggin's day. Part of my problem is that what I write about in this space is usually inspired by some conversation I had earlier in the day. I can already see that this forum thing will be sparking a lot of conversations for me. I'll have to remember to hold back, take it slow and not give you the good stuff until you're ready for it.

What was I talking about again?

Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

If you have never read this Hunter S Thompson article about the Derby you really should. The original article was published June 1970. Early in the story he freaks out this guy by convincing him that the Black Panthers are planning to have a demonstration and that the National Guard was on alert.

It's funny how things change and yet they stay the same. I know this guy whose family has gone to the Derby every year for as long as he has been alive. This year however I have heard that they are not planning to go because they fear some sort of terrorist attack. There are a few Arab horse owners that will be at the Derby this year. Just like most years.

Maybe I'm wrong but this just seems to show how big the people of Louisville think the Kentucky Derby is. They think that it is important enough that groups linked to the Taliban my want to bomb it or something. I'm very sure that the order of targets go like this: 1. World Trade Center 2. Pentagon 3. Churchill Downs

I bet that was where that fourth plane was heading when it went down over Pennsylvania. They would have been about 4 months late to hit during Derby time but beggers can't be choosers.

It's been a pretty good weekend.

Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

It's done. At about 7:30 this morning I went to bed after installing the forum and playing around with the settings for a while and making sure it worked.

So let's see what happens. Anyone willing to give a valid email address will be able to post to it. As of 12:15 AM there are 6 members unless you're including dickhead. Which I just made up as sort of my redneck dumbass alter ego. When I feel like saying something completely unreasonable and stupid I may slip into him.

I don't feel that 6 is to bad considering it hasn't even been up for 16 hours yet. I didn't put a link to it from my main site until about 12:30 PM or so. I have to give props to Nick, one of the guys who suggested a forum and he was THE guy who recommended the YaBB Forum package. He was the first to sign up. I must admit I expected a huge headache. But, the install went pretty smoothly. It's making me want to try to install movable type again. I finally just gave up on that but I learned a bit through this process and I may try it again.

Anyway, it's early and I'm heading down to the Mag.

Good Night.
