If you have a fast connection you must go to the Divx.com Showcase and download the Animated short, THE HUNT. The file is 46MB which is a heartbreaker for the 56kers out there. You also have to have the Divx codec but if you don't already have it you can get it from the site. It is worth the trouble if you have any interest at all in computer animation.
Here is the synopsis of the clip taken from the page itself:
"This award-winning short film from Marco Spitoni creates a visually stunning world covered by rain forests and giant lakes, where thousands of species live together in a wonderful and wild environment. Check out the astonishing CG visuals and thrilling action sequences."
That makes it sound a little new age but its full of some of the best animation your likely to see outside of the next Star Wars movie. Incredible.
This will be the last time I use my new video game as an excuse but I got started late on all of this because of it and now I need to get to bed because I have to be up so I can go see Tenacious D at Ear X-tacy.
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

I've decided not to build my dream machine. Basically because I can find no way to justify it. I have no reason at all. None.
Damn it.
I do need to get a CD Player for my car. Preferrably one that plays MP3's. I'm so friggin' sick of Louisville radio. There is not one station that doesn't play mostly crap. Every once in a while something that doesn't suck gets played but generally it's all crap.
I'm cutting this post short because I want to get back to killing Aliens and shit.
I almost forgot! Tenacious D will be at Ear X-tacy Saturday to sign stuff. SO if you're a fan be there or be .... you know the rest.
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

I'm completely scatterbrained at the moment and can't really concentrate.
I’ve been busy burning a bunch of files from my hard drive to CD’s and before that playing a bunch of Aliens vs. Predators 2 and doing my laundry and my general surfing. I’m at the limits of my multi-tasking for 4AM.
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever. (yeah yeah I know this is a weak post.)

I'm getting a bonus at work which makes me happy. Between that and getting a healthy tax check it has me really itching to put together a new computer.
There are a couple of problems with this. My computer is fine. It's a Pentium III 600MHz with 640MB of memory. I just got a brand new video card and I don't know of one program made for PC's that I can't run on my machine. I recently got Aliens vs Predators 2, which is a very recent release that says I shouldn't play the game on its highest settings. I had to settle for medium. That isn't a big deal.
The thing is I hate being behind the curve. Right now I'm probably about the middle or maybe slightly ahead just because I have a buttload of RAM.
So I spent about 45 minutes today trying to put together my dream machine. Dual Pentium 4 1.7GHz chips, 1 GB of RAM, 80 GB hard drive 7200 rpm. (drool drool drool)
If I put it together myself it would be fairly reasonable in price but I would have no need for that kind of juice.
Now, I'm off to the Dell website to see how much they would charge me to put together my dream machine.
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

Today's post is basically just me endorsing Mr Show again.
They have a skit where they make a musical from the TV show "FUZZ".
Ronnie Dobbs is the most arrested man in the history of the show and below are the lyrics to his big number.
"How High The Mountain" (Ronnie's Theme)
-Mr. Show with Bob and David
(spoken)
Cop 1: Come on, sir, you're obviously intoxicated!
Ronnie: You're obviously intoxicated!
Cop 2: Ok, that's it! Let's go!
Ronnie: You that's it let's go!
Cops: You're under arrest!
Ronnie: You're under arrest! Naaaaaaaaah!
Ronnie singing:
I thought that my home was my castle,
but no one is scrutinizing me.
No pigs, no lying bitch, no hassles,
Y'all are brutalizing me.
Can't a man not drink his beer in silence.
Can't a man not crudely lie and scream.
Can't a man not control his bitch with violence.
Y'all are brutalizing me.
Y'all are brutalizing meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
Good NIght, Good Morning, whatever.

I'm going to reminisce a little today.
St. Patrick’s Day has been a big holiday for my friends for a long time now. For me it probably goes back to “that one” St. Patrick’s Day. I say “that one” because most of my friends know immediately what I’m talking about. It was probably about 7 years ago. Aaron Richards was still working at the Mag Bar and B.J. Payne was his bar back.
This was the first suit night that I remember. A bunch of us went over to Dana and Nikki’s house to start the evening. All of the men in our group wearing suits and the ladies were wearing dresses. We started drinking the Bushmills and listening to the Pogues there. I remember all of us doing shots in the kitchen and singing along with the Pogues. Everyone with their arms around each other singing, enjoying the moment.
We then made the caravan down to the Mag. This was before Louisville got rid of its Sunday Blue Laws and you couldn’t serve liquor on Sundays. We had come prepared. Almost everyone had a flask and we all drank our fair share of whiskey. I remember Danny running around with a flask sharing with all of his close friends. Later I remember him running around with a flask sharing with everyone he knew. Still later he was running around with a flask sharing with pretty much anyone he recognized.
It was just a good time that we all remember fondly.
This is kind of hard for me to put into words… That night was a particular time and place that can never happen again. Sure, we can get together and we will have a good time, possibly even a better time, but there was something about that night that made it special. Part of it may be that we were younger; part of it might be that our friendships were newer. We didn’t have nearly a decade of shared experiences. We were all at certain places in our lives and those have changed. There are thousands of variables that have all changed that change our perceptions.
I had a very good time last night and I hope we keep up the St. Patrick’s Day traditions. There are some new faces and some faces that were dearly missed but it was a good night.
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

Yesterday's post was obviously a fabrication. I didn’t have anything particularly interesting to talk about so as I was lighting my cigarette, the first line came to me and the rest is what it is. I hope you got a chuckle out of it.
Early this evening I watched Forrest Gump. I’ve seen the film before of course but it was on cable and I had just turned the channel over as it was beginning. I think at the time the movie was so popular and the character became so familiar and so often parodied that there was a sort of backlash. I got the vibe that most people thought the movie was a little over-rated. Well, watching the movie again 8 years after its release, I think it is a fine movie. I’d even say it is a fine film. Tom Hanks’ performance was fantastic.
The scene toward the end of the movie when he finds out that he is the father of Jenny’s son was incredible. His performance in that scene, he was so scared and when he was finally able to get the words out, “He’s the most beautiful thing I’ve ever seen. But… is, is he smart, or is he…” and the look of relief on his face when she told him that Little Forrest was the smartest in his class. I think the color of his face actually changed several shades. It’s just a great movie all around.
Oh by the way, I didn’t mention it last night but this webpage is guaranteed to be a Fred Durst Free Zone. Click on the small banner in the sidebar or just click here for details. Please incourage other's to do the same for their sites.
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.
