I realize that my last couple of posts have kind of sucked but tonight is not the night for me to correct that problem.
I went to bed at 3AM last night and I laid awake for about a half an hour before I got up, lit a cigarette, ripped a cd and went to bed again at 4AM. I tossed and turned until 8:30AM when I got up to get ready for an all day training session we had off site for work. I began to really wake up at about 3:30PM, two and a half hours before the training session was over. I actually did get a lot out of it but you know I love to complain.
So its now about 3AM and I am incredibly tired. Maybe Thursday, I should have got up only after 4 hours sleep. Then I may have been able to get some real sleep last night.
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

I've started telling my Halloween joke. I'm not going to tell it here and now because then I won't get a chance to tell it in person. As a matter of fact I told it to my boss at work, with a warning that there was a little profanity. It went through the building so fast that I had people asking me about the joke 15 minutes later. If I told the joke here you wouldn't get the full effect. I'm not completely cruel, those that don't get a chance to hear it from me before Halloween can read it here then.
I was struggling with a minor case of writer's block and decided to take a look at the archives. I went back to exactly a year ago and found that I was having a problem with writer's block then also. I then began to read the other posts from that time period and I had just ended my "Red Meat, Guns, Gambling and Women" Vacation. I was also complaining about how I didn't understand women. It looks like not much has changed in a year.
I wasn't at the Mag late tonight because I have to get up early in the morning. Another AM training session. At least it's at 10AM instead of 8AM.
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

Fall is already almost 3 weeks old and it has felt like Fall.
I was checking out the weather and after the next couple of days of rain, the highs are supposed to be in the low 60's. Have I mentioned how much I hate summer? This area of the country is so beautiful in the fall. Last weekend, Matt and I went to a wedding out in the boonies and it was a very pleasant drive out to the middle of nowhere. The sky was clear and when the sun went down the sky was so clear you could see the Milky Way.
We're getting into my favorite time of year here in Louisville, Ky and on the other side of the world we're bombing the shit out of the Taliban. It's so far away it's hard to imagine that it's going on.
I don't really know where I was going with all of this so I think it's a good place to stop.
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

I have lost all respect for the History Channel.
It’s bad enough that it is pretty close to the Hitler Channel with most shows about World War II and the Nazi’s. I was flipping through the channels the other day and got over to the History Channel and they were showing THE MAN WHO SAW TOMORROW. It’s a piece of shit “documentary” about Nostradamus.
The History Channel is supposed to have history and I assumed they would make an effort to be accurate in the reporting and study of history. Now Nostradamus may be a historical figure, this movie about him is a piece of shit tabloid documentary. There were several movies out around that time that were the same way. There was a movie about the Bermuda Triangle and one about Bigfoot, all filled with “experts” talking about one thing or another.
I have already done a tirade about those who believe what Nostradamus had to say so I will spare you from more comment.
I wanted to mention, for those that don’t read my site everyday, that the interviews I videotaped have been posted.
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

I finished editing the video. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. I'm sorry about the file sizes but they're really not that big for about 5 minute video clips. The whole thing is almost 25 minutes. When I get a chance tomorrow I'll be working up some smaller versions that will be easier for the 56kers out there. Right now I want to get the best quality I could without getting ridiculously big files.
The lighting is a little lower than I would like and we had a couple of low talkers in the group, but overall I am pleased.
As a disclaimer for the people we interviewed, most of them had been drinking. I need to thank Roy and Dana for helping with the interviews while I was able to concentrate on the camerawork.
Matt has already suggested that I make this a weekly event. I’m thinking maybe once a month and the next time I’ll only ask 10 questions to 10 people. This time I had 14 interviews and 15 questions. I probably spent about 7 hours editing the hour of footage I had. I think it was worth it, this time, but I don’t think it would be on a weekly basis.
Enjoy.
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

UPDATE: The artist I was referring to in the previous post is Greg Edwards. If you get a chance to see his work, GO!
MrQuick 2:11 PM
This has been a pretty good weekend.
I still have quite a bit of work to do on this video footage from the interviews the other night. So far I've been pretty pleased with what few tests I've done just to give myself some encouragement to do the grunt work of editing out all of the extra shit. Its been sort of a pain in the ass time consuming process but I like the results so far.
The St James Art Fair was this last weekend and those with lots of money came down to a neighborhood they would normally avoid like the plague.
Every year the we at the Mag, the "natives" like to find subtle and not so subtle ways to shake up the visitors to our neighborhood. The owner of the Mag Bar lets people show there art in the backyard. One of the artist which because it is 5:30AM, I am drawing a complete blank on his name at the moment did some art that raised a little ruckus. Here is a sample of his work. This is probably offensive to a lot of people so you may not want to view it from work.
Apparently the police were called and when they arrived at the scene they looked at it and called downtown, "We have the display of possibly pornographic art on private property. What can we do?" The answer was absolutely nothing. The police made their appearance and they left. I love free speech. I also love that someone had the ability to pull that kind of reaction from people.
Matt and I were discussing trying to come up with our own pieces of artistic expression for next year.
I'm having trouble concentrating so...
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

I'm going to keep this short because I'm in the process of editing all of the footage I took to night at the Mag Bar. I have about an hour of footage that needs a lot of editing.

3) Name one of the N'Sync.
4) When you take a pooh, do you look at it before you flush?
5) Who do you think is the most powerful woman in the world?
6) Who do you think is the most powerful man in the world?
7) What is the name of the guy the US is blaming the World Trade Center attack on?
8) Who was President when we nuked Japan?
9) Name 2 countries we were at war with in WWII?
10) Who did Sean “Puffy” Combs recently breakup with?
11) How often do you masturbate a week?
12) Where is in the Sea of Tranquility?
13) Under what religion was Jesus Christ raised?
14) Who was the first man to step foot on the moon?
