I have a friend named Jeff who on occasion will do something odd. Every once in a while he’ll get an idea in his head and feel the need to carry it out. Last night he decided to take a vow of silence. Just a 24-hour vow but a vow none the less.
He had given himself a ten-word cushion. He had used all of them up by 1:30AM. But he had said no other words up to 3:30 when I left the bar. I asked him why he was doing it and offered the answer, “Because you just want to see if you can do it?” He pointed to his nose, which of course meant, “On the nose.”
We were able to converse pretty well between signals and notes because we know each other fairly well. I know Jeff and I immediately accepted that he wasn’t going to talk all night. I found it amazing the reactions he got from other people. Usually they seemed to think it was fun at first but then most people seemed to get pretty annoyed quickly. Some felt that they could pick on him and that there would be no retribution.
It was like they thought he was a pacifist or something. It wasn’t like he took a vow to do no harm. He could still try to kick your ass; he just wouldn’t say anything while he was doing it.
People just couldn't accept that he wasn’t going to talk. They either ridiculed him hoping to get him to speak or they would play along for a short while. Mostly they ridiculed him.
I’m thinking about doing it Sunday night.
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

Today's "Link of the Day" has me thinking about capital punishment.
I personally am against capital punishment. One of the main reasons I have this belief is that I don't think the government should have the right to kill its citizens. Murder is a horrible crime. Premeditated murder is supposed to be an even worse crime. I don’t think there can be a more premeditated murder than a person being on death row.
One of the first arguments I hear is something along the lines of, “What if someone killed your Mother? What would you think then?” My answer would be that I would want to blow their fucking head off. But that is not Justice, that is Revenge. I would look for an opportunity to kill them myself but that isn’t what the government is supposed to be about.
Saying that I do need to say this, if they are going to have executions, they need to be broadcast live on TV. Let everyone know what an execution looks like. The death penalty is supposed to be a deterrent. It could really be a deterrent if you could see LIVE on TV a man’s head burst into flame because they used the wrong kind of sponge in an electrocution. Seriously, on occasion this happens.
I just wish that there was a way to broadcast the smell of burning flesh.
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

I really hate water efficient toilets.
In my apartment, we have two toilets. Both appear to be the type of toilets that are supposed to save on water. The downstairs bowl, is too efficient. I was cleaning up in the bathroom and I threw 2 standard roll paper towels into the bowl and tried to flush them. There was nothing else in the bowl except water.
The bowl was clogged. I was able to clear it with a plunger but that is beside the point. Any toilet should be able to flush 2 paper towels.
I friggin’ hate these water efficient toilets. You usually have to flush 2 or 3 times to get everything down the drain. How much water does that save?
I take a man-size shit and I think toilets should be made to handle it.
That is the end of my rant.
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

I have to be at work in the morning at 9AM. I have this Leadership Training I'm doing. The training itself won't be bad, its the 9AM thing that I'm not looking forward to.
They have been better about having a morning training and an evening training. Partially because of my complaints. But this time they want everyone together and its going to be in the AM.
I am wide awake and I'm going to run down to the Mag for an hour or so. Hopefully, I'll be able to sleep after that.
Good Night.

Monday's are my day of rest. I didn't really do shit today. I did run by Acme Ink and discuss a tattoo with Jay.
I did a little shopping for a few friends who had birthday's this month.
But other than that I didn't do much. Which is good for me but not good for my post. The Mag was very dead by 2:00 PM. The only thing I can guess is that maybe people went out and enjoyed the weather instead of going to the bar.
I need to find something that pisses me off so I'll have something to talk about. At the moment things are going pretty well except for a little drama that I'm not going to go into. When it comes down to it the drama doesn't involve me.
I could talk about my love life but that would either be a long boring story or a very, very short story. Depends on the way I want to tell it.
But for now...
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

Its late... I was over at Sammy's and its time for me to go to bed.
But first I want to post some info about the Shawn Bradley TCB Fund Raising Raffle and Party.
Designated time for the celebration is Aug 18 from 2 p.m. - 10 p.m. Location is still the Highland Women's Club at 2000 Lancashire Ave, Louisville, KY.
Sorry for the short post but I was out having fun.
BTW. Here is a private message to "L". At Sammy's after hours there were only two guys and there were three women. I'm pretty sure Sammy and I had a good time. ;-)
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

Today was a good day, I didn't have to use my AK.
But I did use shotguns, machine guns and grenade launchers. I spent 6 hours today playing Max Payne. I finally beat the game. It really only seemed like maybe two hours but thats besides the point. I hadn't spent that long playing one game for one setting in a long time. Its a pretty cool game but the ending is a little anti-climatic.
The later this evening a bunch of friends and I went to the Comedy Caravan to see Ron Shock. He is one funny sum'bitch. I would try to go into what he talked about or possibly try to convey a joke or two but the biggest part of it is the way he tells the joke. Actually he tells funny stories. He may throw in a joke or two but mostly he just tells hilarious stories.
He's having another show Sunday night (tonight) so if you get a chance you may want to check him out.
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.
