Friday was an odd day! Normally, I get between 300 and 500 unique visits a day to my website. Yesterday I had 1550. I started to approach the limit on my bandwidth usage. I believe a bunch of new people discovered the Mardi Gras video. Which I have had to remove. I like doing this but I don't want to have spend more money to do it.

To all of the new folks who have come to my site... Welcome to me! If you came looking for the Mardi Gras video you'll just have to settle for the still pictures.

Good Day.

MrQuick 1:33 PM

This has been an odd day.

I start the day off by changing the flat tire I discovered on my car when I was heading for work. Friday's at work are usually a little laid back for me because only 4 people on my team work that day. One of those four quit today because he got a promotion at his other job. Another one of the guys on my team felt sick later in the day and he left.
The other two guys that were there left at 11:30 and I got off at midnight.

I got to the bar and hardly anyone was there that I knew except for the people working and Ted. A few friends started to straggle in later. This girl that I have known for a long time but I wouldn't call a friend of mine out of the blue asked me for ten dollars. When I passed on that she asked me to buy her two drinks. When I passed on that she told me she had some painkillers. When I passed on that she started to say something but then realized FINALLY that it was a no go. The woman's got a husband. My only assumption was that the other drink was for him. Not only do we almost never talk but I don't think its a brilliant idea to ask the only non-drinker in the bar for alcohol money. Then Ted left.

Nikki and Aaron finally showed up but they were both being pulled away by their adoring fans.

I finally got a chance to sit down with Nikki and talk to her and some dumbass tried to say that the barstool he had left was still his seat. I kept hearing him say to his friend that he was "letting it go". It was obvious that he wasn't going to do shit. When I felt secure that the guy wasn't going to buck up I glanced around and noticed that if he had decided to not let it slide, he would have been jumped by at least 10 guys just in the front part of the bar. I'm not saying that I'm some big badass and I would kick his ass. What I AM saying is that I probably wouldn't have had the chance to get a punch or stomp in because he would have already been laid out in the street in a pool of his own blood, urine and feces. I'm a very large mammal and I am no longer the biggest guy in my group of friends. The guy would have been a grease spot.

That's why when I go to a strange bar. A bar that I don't know very many people, I am very polite. I'm polite normally anyway but especially when I don't know who has 10 buddies looking for a fight.

Very stressful day but for some reason it was still a good day.

Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

Today's link of the day is from Jeffersonville, IN. Right across the Ohio River from Louisville, KY. Which is where I live for those of you who are new to this site.

I'm not surprised that someone has put up a backyard boxing webpage. I'm not surprised that there is backyard boxing in Jeffersonville. Its just odd when you find a weird site in your own backyard. (No pun intended)

Its a pretty funny site. They have a lot of fights on the site available for download and they have several different size files for thos folks out there with slow speeds. Most of the fights are just sort of funny. Small guys fighting bigger girls. Girls fighting girls. I haven't actually watched the guy fights yet. I'll get to that when I finish the post.

Nikki made it safely to town. She had an entourage around her all night. Many of her friends just trying to get a few minutes to talk to her alone. She's pop-u-lar. I'm sure most people will get some time to talk to her. She'll be in town all weekend.

Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

This week is just flying by. Tonight, Nikki will be in town and Aaron will be coming into town Friday. Its going to be Old School Night at the Mag.

I've had a very long day and need to get some sleep. Sorry about the short post but I need to get my beauty sleep. (Boy do I need some beauty sleep)

Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

This whole Celebrity Death Pool has had an odd effect on my friends and myself. First of all, we all are paying attention to the news about certian celebrities that are sick or were sick or are dying. Several people had put George Harrison on their lists. After several rumors in the press he is apparently fine. Katharine Hepburn is still in the hospital as far as I know. Its gotten to where if you listen for every rumor, your frequently excited or disappointed. Which in itself is odd because were talking about people dying.

The whole Karma thing is worrying me a little. But if I win the cash may ease the pain.

One of my friends didn't put a certain name on his list because he didn't want to profit from the celebrities death. He didn't want to find himself rooting for this particular celebrity to die.

I would dwell on the fact that we are all a bunch of ghouls and assholes but its been so much fun already and no one has died.

What do you think? Are we a bunch of assholes for essentially betting on someone's death or is it just good clean fun?

Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

Last night aliens abducted me and took me to a mysterious location probably miles and miles from Louisville where they made me watch The Planet of the Apes. I actually liked the movie. I had my hopes built up pretty high and was a little disappointed but I still enjoyed it. I guess the worse thing I have to say about the movie is that it didn’t surprise me. Which is my problem with most big summertime movies.

The makeup effects were incredible. The other special effects were spectacular. They had a few references to the original movie, which I found entertaining. Especially a famous cameo that I don’t want to mention. The big ending seemed tacked on and kind of silly. Overall though, I still have to say I liked the movie. I give it a 6 out of 10.

George Harrison is in bad shape. Danny and I were discussing his condition and his trip to India to get his spiritual affairs in order. I said, “Well maybe they will ‘faith heal’ him.” Jonas walked up and said, “Faith Hill?” That’s when I expressed my desire to be Faith Hilled. I know I’m not the only person who feels this way.

Time to go to bed and hopefully dream of being Faith Hilled.

Good night, Good Morning, whatever.

If you’re thinking about trying out Internet Explorer 6.0, don’t. Right now its only a preview and there are still a lot of bugs in it. I have found a couple of nice additions but it seems very sluggish and a little buggy on Windows 98 SE.

One of the nice additions is that it makes it even easier to save pictures from a web page. You just move your mouse over the picture and buttons appear in the top left corner to give you the options of saving the picture, printing the picture or emailing the picture. Another nice feature is that if a picture is to big to fit on your screen the browser resizes it so you can see the whole picture. Which would have come in handy when I used to post my pictures their full size.

Make sure you wait until the actual release version comes out before you try it out.

Old Louisville flooded today and I didn’t get one damn picture of it. We had a huge rain storm and the whole time I was in a movie. The dumpster behind the Mag Bar actually started to float away. I bet I could have gotten some news worthy photos but it was not to be.

On the upside, I went and saw The Score. It was a very good movie. I really enjoyed it. It was probably the best movie I have seen since the official beginning of summer. I must say though that its not going to be a modern classic that is going to be remembered for years to come. All of the main actors in the movie have been in much much better films and this was just a nice summer diversion for me.

Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

I just spent a long time typing the best post I have ever typed in my entire life. It just flowed out of me like a raging river.
It was amazing. I laughed, I cried, I gained a whole new outlook on life. My entire life was going to change and everything I ever wanted was going to be mine for the taking.

I even solved the problems of the world. I couldn't believe what was happening. It was like the hands of God were controling my hands and all things were to be known.

And then my browser crashed. The browser where I was typing this post and everything was lost.

So I want to thank Microsoft for making me lose the answers to all of the questions of the Universe.

Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.
