In lieu of today's posting I'm going to put up a series of quotes from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas written by Hunter S Thompson.

"We had two bags of grass, 75 pellets of mescaline, 5 sheets of high powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers... also a quart of tequila, quart of rum, a case of beer, pint of raw ether, and 2 dozen amyls......not that we needed all that for the trip, but once you get locked into a serious drug collection... the tendency is to push it as far as you can."

"We were somewhere around Barstow on the edge of the desert when the drugs began to take hold. I remember saying something like 'I feel a bit lightheaded; maybe you should drive....' And suddenly there was a terrible roar all around us and the sky was full of what looked like huge bats, all swooping and screeching and diving around the car, which was going about a hundred miles an hour with the top down to Las Vegas. And a voice was screaming: 'Holy Jesus! What are these goddamn animals?'
Then it was quiet again. My attorney had taken his shirt off and was pouring beer on his chest, to facilitate the tanning process. 'What the hell are you yelling about?' he muttered, staring up at the sun with his eyes closed and covered with wraparound Spanish sunglasses. 'Never mind,' I said. 'It's your turn to drive.' I hit the brakes and aimed the Great Red Shark toward the shoulder of the highway. No point mentioning those bats, I thought. The poor bastard will see them soon enough."

"There was only one road back to L.A., U.S. interstate 15. Just a flatout high speed burn through Baker, and Barstow, and Burdeux. Then on to the Hollywood freeway straight into frantic oblivion. Safety... obscurity... just another freak in the freak kingdom. We'd gone in search of the American dream, it had been a lame fuck around. A waste of time. There was no point in looking back. Fuck no, not today, thank you kindly. My heart was filled with joy. I felt like a monster reincarnation of Horatio Algier, a man on the move, and just sick enough to be totally confident."

Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

Man I hate typos. I try to reread everything I post because I hate when there is a mistake. Its not that anyone ever tells me about the mistakes. Its just that when something has glaring errors people tend to miss the point of what you are trying to say. For example, If you are having a very serious conversation with your significant other and you notice a booger hanging out of their nose. Its hanging out so far that its actually swinging back and forth as they talk. Back and forth, back and forth. You completely forget about what they were talking about and all you can do is stare at that pendulous booger.

I'm not exactly sure where the booger=typo connection came from but I think it is valid.

The whole reason I bring this up was because I noticed a typo in yesterday's post. In the first real paragraph I wrote, "That's when the crowbar cam out." What I meant to say was, "White people smell like bologna." I don't know how in the hell I missed that one.

I'm heading out to the bar.

Good Night.

I decided to post before I went to the bar tonight.

Roy and I got up earlier than we usually did and Roy replaced my alternator for me. It went as smooth as we could have hoped for. He got the old alternator off with little trouble. The Autozone had a rebuilt alternator for about $75.00. We got back and he had a little trouble getting the new one in but the total work time on the car itself was probably only 20 or 25 minutes tops. The biggest headache was this one tension pully. Its job was to keep the belt tight. The problem was it made it a bitch to get the belt back on when the new alternator was in place. Thats when the crowbar cam out.

So now my car it running again.

I have to work on my day off Monday for this training thing I have to do. The training is Monday and Tuesday. They actually listened to my suggestion to have the training at a time when second and third shift people might be able to handle better. Monday still sucks because its from 9AM to 6PM, but Tuesday's is from 1PM to 10PM. Its amazing! I will actually be wide awake for a training class. This will be a first for me.

Which reminds me. I talked to Mark Cramer and apparently I misunderstood or he informed incorrectly, but he isn't coming to town this weekend he is coming to town the weekend after, 15th, 16th and 17th. It may have been my misunderstanding but I told him that I figured he would be late.

See you at the Mag.

Good Night.

I have a few things to talk about today, filled with highs and lows.

First the "high", Mark Cramer is coming to town this weekend. Many of you probably don't know him but he is a good friend of mine that moved to Costa Rica. I've talked about him several times. I've told a few of his Tales of Woe. You may remember that I have called him the least reliable person I know. Unless of course its something really important. He tends to be unreliable with the little shit. He told me he has airline tickets already, bought and paid for. He told me he would be here Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There is a small part of me that thinks that he will still not show up. I really am looking forward to seeing him though so I hope he'll be here at least one of those days.

Next on the agenda, a friend of mine named Scott Davis, the guy who did the Mardi Gras video, seems to have a problem with someone. The other night he was over at a friend's house and his tire was slashed. Then Saturday, when he was at the Mag someone slashed another tire and his convertable top. He would like to find out who's doing it so he can at least talk to the guy and clear up whatever problem he has. It would be a mighty big coincident if it wasn't the same person doing it. If anyone knows who did it let me know and I'll pass it on to Scott. From the words of Pulp Fiction, "There's nothing lower than fuckin' with a man's wheels."

This is the "low" for me, my fuckin' alternator went out on my car. So I need to get up early and replace that so I can get to work. Luckily Roy is going to help me out. I just hope it goes smoothly.

This means I need to get to bed early.

Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

Last night I was trying to update my site and found that the server is apparently down including the webpage for my host. So this will probably be posted later than normal.

I forgot to head over to Ear X-tacy at midnight to pickup the new Radiohead. I need to get it sometime this week.

Ted, Charlie and I have been discussing this golf cart Supreme Court case all week through emails. The debate was fierce but I think we have basically came to an agreement. First, we don't think this is a case that should have ever gone to the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court shouldn't be ruling on the rules of a professional sport. Second, Its a friggin' stupid rule. The PGA lets golfers use carts during the qualifying rounds but not during the actual tournament play. Even the PGA can't make up their minds on golf carts. Whether the golfer in question should have won or not is still unsettled between us but since we all agree that not using carts shouldn't be a rule, we'll agree to disagree.

I was just thinking, my friends and I will get passionate about some stupid issues sometimes. I talk about all sorts of subjects in this space and this golf thing that I thought no one cared about generate more email for me than anything else in a long while. Last week a friend of mine and I started to talk about prime numbers and then proceeded to name the prime numbers until we started to get bored. The same friend and I spent an hour talking about the concept of the space elevator.

My friends and I are weird.

Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

The new Radiohead album comes out Tuesday. I believe you can get it after midnight at Ear X-tacy Monday night. I have only one problem with the popularity of Radiohead. Every band from England is trying to sound like them. Some are better than others, for example I like Cold Play, but the comparison to Radiohead is obvious. I'm happy for Radiohead and I will continue to keep buying their albums but I have problems with the influence they are having on the rest of the music industry.

I've been going through a phase lately where it seems like nothing new is happening. I'm not depressed about it, just a little bored. It seems like I am always doing the same things... which I probably am. I need to mix things up a little. I guess I shouldn't complain too much because nothing bad is happening to me, its just that nothing realy good is happening either. I have been on this even keel for a long while now. Part of the problem is when I get in a rut its usually hard for me to break the pattern.

Ah well, I guess that's enough for tonight.

Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

Chris sent me this link yesterday. I felt that I had to share it but since the movie on the page is an 8.3meg file I didn't want to make it the link of the day. I try to look out for the 56Ker's out there. I still think its pretty funny.

A friend of mine was doing some weird things the other day. He's got me a little worried about him. On occasion its hard to tell what's drunk talk and what's a cry for help. Usually I can tell but this time and this situation was pretty surreal.

Laura didn't appreciate my posting the other day when I was trying to encourage people to go to her future parties. I must admit I didn't do a very good job. I told her that if she asked me to do it I would probably be a smartass about it. She should know better. Everytime someone puts me on the spot I usually come up with the a smartass comment or I tell the complete truth which on occasion has pissed them off more.

I friggin' love this weather!!! It's JUNE! The high today is supposed to be 72 degrees and a low of 54. I'm sitting back and listening to some summer music and enjoying this great weather.

Today's posting has been sort of scattered. Ah well, its 5:30AM and I need my beauty sleep.

Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.
