Summertime... and the living's easy.
This is Memorial Day weekend. Memorial Day is the unofficial beginning of summer. As I write this post the temperature is 58 degrees F. If all summer was like this I would never ever complain about summer again. Any of you whinny bitches think that its too cold need to come back to me in August when the temperature is 95 with a heat index of a million and six. Humidity so high that you literally are soaking wet by the time you walk from your house to your car.
I am still amazed by this weather. A few weeks ago we had an early minor heat wave and people started talking about global warming. I bet they don't start talking about the next ice age this week.
Lately, I've been wondering if I'm starting to get out of touch when it comes to music. Its just that everytime I turn on MTV and they are actually playing music, its some guy or girl that I have never heard of singing or rapping some horrible song. Now one thing in my favor is that I have rarely liked what was on MTV for the past 10 years and I never felt out of touch until recently. Right now I am assuming that MTV has gotten even shittier.
The radio in this town has been pissing me off as much as ever. I was listening to the 80's station for a while and I've finally gotten sick of everything they play. They seemed pretty good at first but after a few months it seems like they play the same songs over and over. Once in a long while the play something that I still think is good. The Oldies station seems to be playing the same stuff over and over. Even the few stations that play "new" music seem to throw in a classic rock song now and again.
At this point, I am going to assume that Top 40 still sucks like it almost always has and that being out of touch with Top 40 is no real loss. I still can find good new music at my local record store.
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

My friend Bill had a medical problem with his left eye fairly recently. I don't know the correct medical term but in laymen's terms he had a stroke in his left eye. To the best of my knowledge there was some sort of blockage in the blood vessels and then the blood vessel burst.
Part of the problem is that he is basically looking through blood in his left eye and glasses won't help because it has nothing to do with the way light comes into his eye. It has to do with the way the retina sees an image.
Bill's Right Eye
Bill's Left Eye
Bill got these pictures from his doctor. They are actual Polaroids of his retinas. You can see how his left eye is almost smeared. Where in the picture of his right eye everything looks pretty sharp and in focus.
From what he told me, it wasn't painful its just that he can't see as clearly.
I want to thank Bill for sharing the pictures with me so that I could post them here. The pictures are great. Bill is getting medical attention now and he shouldn't have too much to worry about.
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

I installed BeOS onto my machine tonight.
The more I hear about the next version of Windows, called Windows XP, the more pissed off I get. SO I've been in a mood to try to get away from windows.
So I'm giving BeOS a shot. The thing is that I've been playing with that for the last 2 hours and I'm real tired and I need to get to bed. I don't feel to creative at the moment but I will post something out of the ordinary tomorrow.
My friend Bill, has a problem with one of his eyes and I got some cool pictures of his retinas. I'll give you more details tomorrow and show pictures taken of the inside of his eye.
Until then...
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

There was some odd conversation at the bar last night.
I bunch of us were sitting in the booth by the front window and this girl I know started to tell this story about some friends of hers.
Let me say this real quick... I have forgotten a couple of details but I'll tell the story in my own words and get the point across.
Anyway, these friends had a roommate. He moved out and their cat was missing. A couple of days later the guy brought the cat back and said that he had found it outside. He dropped off the cat and split. These friends then noticed that there was something really wrong with the cat’s ass. The cat’s ass was really fucked up.
Now when I was hearing this story I didn't ask for too many details because I was afraid of what I might hear, but the point was made this guy had fucked their cat. To make it worse, the cat was a male so he had gay cat sex. Don't get me wrong, when two human males do their thing in the privacy of their own home I could care less. But gay cat sex is sick.
This reminded me of a story Kevin had told me a couple of years ago. This weird friend of his in a drunken and high state told Kevin about the time he had sex with his own dog. The guy actually told Kevin that the dog seduced him. He tried to describe how the dog had put his head on his lap and looked up at him with those dark brown eyes and he knew the dog wanted it. Again this is a male animal.
We must put a stop to this gay bestiality.
I know your thinking that we should stop bestiality in general. I agree but I think we need to take one step and a time and work our way up to heterosexual bestiality.
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

I'm sitting here listening to the new Tool CD, Lateralus for the first time.
So far so good... I never listened to any Perfect Circle, which from what I hear is a really good thing, its a really good thing I never listened to it that is. The new album sounds like Tool to me.
I've been getting the itch for a new tattoo. I've been forming the picture in my mind but I don't know exactly what I want yet. I'm not even sure where I want to put it yet. I'm starting to run out of good places. I don't really want to commit to anything on my back because if or when I get tattooed there I want it to be one big planned piece. I'm thinking about my thigh or possibly my stomach.
I want it to also be a remembrance for the friends I lost last year. I've been thinking about a Sacred Heart or the Crucifixion of Christ. I want to stick with the religious theme I've been going with.
If anyone has a picture of an interesting Sacred Heart or a stylized Crucifixion, let me know.
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

Someone sent me this link the other day. I thought it was funny so I'm sharing.
The final episode of The Sopranos of this season was a little disappointing. It was pretty good but it didn't answer very many questions. It didn't seem to have any real cliffhangers except for the storylines that have been going on for a several weeks. They did add one new possible torment for Tony. Faruza Balk plays an FBI agent who is just beginning to try an get close to Adreana, Chris's girlfriend.
Part of the problem may be that the last two episodes were SO good that this seemed a little anti-climatic for a season finale.
Still though, I can't wait until next year when the fourth and probably last season starts.
That's all for today.
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

Last night I mentioned my friend in Costa Rica. Since he has several friends here in Louisville that visit this site and would be interested, I am going to tell one of his Tales of Woe.
Mark is one of those guys who seems to always being on the verge of getting in trouble but usually its with a woman. He almost always comes out smelling like a rose. He has been living in Costa Rica for several years now and he loves it. Anyway, he enjoys the night life in Costa Rica and one of the clubs he would go to is called "Velvet".
Well the other day this happened. Forgive the grammar but this is a translation of this page through Babel Fish.
Most of the guys that were arrested were friends of his. Now he is afraid of being assumed guilty by association. He's pretty sure he has nothing to worry about but if you know Mark, you know that he can obsess about things. I don't know if he still is but he used to have the reputation of a hypochondriac.
I'm sure everything will turn out alright. I'd feel better if it was his girlfriend that was creating stress for him other than all of this other stuff but Mark always lands on his feet.
On a different subject, I learned a new word the other day: callipygian "ka-l&-'pi-j(E-)&n adj. having shapely buttocks.
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.
