I have spent the week watching the first season of The Soprano's.
All I can say is that I am really glad Tony Soprano's mom is dead. Not the actress, of course. Just the character. I'm really surprised she made it through the second season. She did everything that she could to get Tony *whacked.
*whacked - to murder another human being.
The actual actress passed away between the 2nd and 3rd seasons. The first episode of this season had some older footage that was altered to give her one last scene and the character had a stroke, that happened off camera.
But as far as I can tell they have given Janice the part of being the woman that everyone wants to see dead. I tell ya, every woman in Tony Soprano's life give's him a pile of shit to deal with. At least he doesn't feel guilty about giving Janice some shit right back.
For those of you who don't watch The Soprano's today's post doesn't mean anything to you. Feel free to look at the official site to catch up.
I don't really have anything for the none Soprano's fan today. I promise I won't talk about them again until the very earliest, Sunday night, Monday morning.
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

I went to Outback Steakhouse with a friend of mine the other day. He knew one of the waitresses there. I, of course, didn't know her at all. At one point during the meal she rubbed my head.
My friend made a comment about it. He compared bald heads to pregnant women's bellies. When a woman is heavy with child it seems like a lot of people want to rub her belly. And for some reason whenever a man has a completely bald head people tend to want to rub it. Not everyone of course.
The thing is when she rubbed my head I didn't even think about it. It would have been different if it was a guy, I would have had something to say but when she ran her hand across my head I didn't even flinch. It was no big deal, it happens so often.
I used to have a couple of female friends who liked to give my freshly shaved head a lick every now and again. One of the woman used to act like she was putting me out to let her lick my head. Let me tell all of you hair boys out there, there is nothing wrong with a girl licking your head and I don't mean that in a pornographic way either. I don't know what it is but there is definitely something pleasing there.
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

I left the Mag last night a little before 2:30AM.
I went straight home and put the Soprano's in and was about to start it. I here the door bell. I had seen two people standing at the corner of Hill and 2nd when I went inside my house. I thought, "This better not be those people."
It was.
It was a little drunk redneck and his only half drunk girlfriend and bags full of her stuff on the sidewalk. His name was Kevin and her name was Bessy. (No joke) They told me their friend that was driving them got arrested for a DUI and they didn't know exactly where they were and if I could just let them use the phone. The word, "No" started to form on my lips and for some reason I decided that it would be the least I could do to let them use my cellphone to make a local call.
They called one person who wasn't home. Then Kevin called his mother. He kept telling her that he was in Bardstown. I kept saying that he was in Louisville. Finally he gave me the phone so I could tell her how to get here. I told his mother that they were in Louisville at the corner of 2nd and Hill. She was surprised that he was in Louisville and she said she wasn't coming because she didn't know anything about Louisville. She then hung up the phone.
They offered me $50.00 and the $100.00 to take them to Bloomfield. I told them that I had to get up early and I had no idea where Bloomfield was. My thought is if his mother didn't want to drive that far, then I'm not going to. I had no delusion that I would ever see a dime out of them.
They then asked me if I could take them to this bar Kevin believed was called the Blue Castle. His friend James worked there and would let them stay the night. I had no idea where it was but he said it was on Goss. I asked if it was near the Winn Dixie and he said yes.
I thought about it for a moment… I had already decided they were no real danger to me. If he had a weapon I couldn’t see it and he was to drunk to stand straight. Bessy seemed genuinely scared that she was in Old Louisville with no hope of a ride and no real knowledge of where she was.
So I told them I’d drive them. I left them on the porch and went up to my room to grab my stainless steel Spyderco with the serrated edge. You can’t be too careful.
We loaded there shit in the car and headed for Sandy’s Pet Store on Goss Ave. We drove by all of these little taverns and none of them seemed open. We went pass the Antique Mall and turned down on Logan. We were almost to Breckenridge Rd when he said that we had to make a right at the Moby Dick.
We had already passed the Moby Dick. So I turned around. Went up to Oak and headed toward Bardstown Rd. We had to wait for a train. We went a couple of blocks and there it was… closed. So he then asked if I could take him to his friends house that was on Goss Ave. Ok…
We get back on Goss and drive pass all of these little bars and stores, I keep naming them off so maybe he or she would recognize the place. We end up driving past Winn Dixie and Eastern Pkwy. He says that its across the street from Mo’s. I don’t know what a Mo’s is. He then says Mo’s Food Mart. I said, “You mean that Food Mart I mentioned as we drove past it?”
So I turn around and stop in front of Mo’s Food Mart. (BTW. Mo’s is in small print.) He trips up the stairs to the house and lands on a garbage bag of her stuff. He knocks on the door until two guys come out.
James doesn’t seem too happy to see Kevin and Bessy. It looks like he was woken up.
They’re talking and the girl asked them for some help with her stuff. Which is all still in my backseat. I started to help because I wasn’t going to be there much longer no matter what happened to these people. They started to grab the stuff and go inside. One of the guys who lived there had several good tattoos and we talked about tats for a few minutes while they were carrying her shit in.
I also explained that I found them on my front porch and had no idea who they were but I decided to do my good deed for the week and give them a ride.
Is it still a good deed when you piss someone off in the process? :-)
I then went home and watched an episode of the Soprano’s about an hour later than I had planned and I have decent story out of it.
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

Well I made a big mistake. I always feel like I don’t have enough time to do what I want. I work a 40 hour a week job like most people. For some reason I feel obligated to go to the Mag at least for a little bit, every night.
“Obligated” is probably not the right word. I don’t feel that I owe anyone to put in an appearance. When it comes down to it I guess I don’t want to miss anything good.
Some nights I can be there 15 minutes and know that I am not going to have a good time. Other nights I’ll give it an hour or so. I usually try to get out of the bar by 3AM. After that people start to hit that level of drunkenness that starts to get on my nerves. Not my friends, my friends usually can keep themselves together no matter how much they drink.
Anyway, back to my big mistake. I bought the game Black & White. It’s a pretty cool game but it takes a lot of time. You’re a God in this fantasy world and you have to decide if your going to be a good God or an evil God or somewhere in the middle. There is a lot to this game and I’m not going to bore you with the details. Lets just say that I spent 4 and half hours playing this game and it seemed like a half an hour.
I don’t have that kind of time normally. I like sleep too much to let it cut into that time.
Speaking of sleep…
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

My friend Jeff was at another bar the other night.
He was sitting next to this girl that he didn’t know. He hadn’t been talking to her or anything and then he turned to her and said, “I don’t like you anymore. I think we should break up.”
Her response was of course, “What?”
Jeff said, “You heard me. I think we should break up.”
Apparently she took the breakup pretty well… at first anyway. Later in the evening she seemed pissed about it and called him an asshole.
My guess is that she started to think about it. Her first reaction was probably, “This guy must be some sort of nut.” But later I bet she was telling her friends about it and was wondering why Jeff broke up with her.
I’m sure her friends said, “Who cares! You don’t even know him.”
But she probably kept wondering why Jeff would breakup with her when there were a number of girls there that he could have broken up with.
He probably caused her permanent psychological damage.
I’ve heard that normally it takes half the time of the length of a relationship, to get over that relationship. If that were true she should have been over the breakup the moment it happened.
I personally kind of like a little surrealism and I think it was pretty funny.
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

So I read this story today. Its about this company that specializes in surveillance video equipment. Its biggest customer at this time is the British government.
The British plan to expand the number of video cameras to 2 million. That’s 2 MILLION cameras.
I saw this show on the learning channel about this surveillance system and how they were using it to stop soccer hooligans. They said they sometimes follow people from their homes all the way to the stadium on video.
That fuckin’ scares the hell out of me!
I know I get a little paranoid once in while… especially when it comes to the government but aren’t we entitled to some anonymity and privacy even when we are out of our homes.
Now your probably thinking… what’s the big deal? That’s in England. That would never happen here. Bullshit. The company that sells this system is aching to get a city in the US to buy the service. They would love to set up their cameras across the United States. All in the name of our protection.
That show I saw on the learning channel was not the first one I’ve seen. It just a way to introduce the cameras to America. You watch enough shows about how great the system is and how its supposedly stopped all of this crime. People start to think it’s a good idea or worse yet people don’t pay attention and they think the cameras are already in the cities of America.
They already have video cameras on the interstates here in Louisville. Which is to help monitor traffic. If that is where it stops I can live with it. I’m just afraid it won’t stop there. Its not like I do anything illegal. I just don’t want to feel like I’m being watched 24/7.
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.
