Today was basically a good day.
Work didn't suck. Kyle B. came into town from Seattle and I haven't seen him for about 3 years. I should have much more to say but as I sit here at my keyboard I am suddenly very tired but I do want to talk about something that annoyed me yesterday.
I got home from work yesterday. Matt came home with me because we decided to stay in and watch a movie instead of going to the bar. Not 2 minutes after I got home I hear a knock on the door. This guy was on the porch and I knew he was a friend of Ehrin's. He asked me if Ehrin was home. I let him in and said I would go check. I went upstairs and Ehrin was asleep. So I went back downstairs and told him she was asleep. He then tells me that he is a little buzzed and asks if he can sit for a while.
I don't know this guy and he wants to sit with Matt and me.
I looked at him for half a second and said, "Ya know, I don't really know you and I don't want to entertain you."
He said, "Ok."
Shook my hand and left.
I just don't know why anyone would want to hang out with strangers. I guess its the introvert in me coming out.
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

I've been hearing a lot about the Grammy's lately. All because of the Eminem controversy.
I am really amazed that people care about the Grammy's. When the Grammy's first added the Heavy Metal catagory to there awards I thought they were finally moving to catch up with the times. They then gave that first award to Jethro Tull instead of Metallica which also had an album out that year. This was a time when Metallica didn't suck ass. They also didn't seem to be sucking satan's cock. They seemed to have principles. Before that year they refused to make videos.
I was discussing this with Matt when it hit me. The shame of getting beaten by Jethro Tull turned Metallica into the commercial whores that they are. I believe they were so heart broken that they decided to make videos. Their first video was great. It was too long to be in MTV's heavy rotation and yet MTV played it all of the time.
I guess they got a taste of real money and they wanted more, much more.
So I blame the Grammy's for causing Metallica to suck.
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

I have a deep and dark secret I feel obligated to tell you people. I know that some people will look at me differently. Some people may never be able to forgive me but it must be told.
I really like the song Xanadu by Olivia Newton-John and E.L.O.
I know... Its horrible. Please don't turn your backs on me. I know I'm not the only person with a "guilty pleasure" song. I know one guy who likes Joan Osbourne.
In a partial defense of myself, I don't like any other Olivia Newton-John music. Though I can tolerate some of her songs from GREASE. But in my youth I did have a fondness for the E.L.O.
Its time for healing. If I'm not over it by the end of the year I will enter a 12 step program. I mean it this time. No really, I really mean it.
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

I was a little surprised by the lack of hate mail from yesterday's post. Every woman I have talked to about this seemed to be horrified by what I had done. I know several women that check this site on a fairly regular basis. Most of the guys I talked to thought it was a little cold but they all admited they only keep cards like that for a couple of days.
So where do you draw the line. Why is throwing a card away immediately after reading it worse than throwing it away a week later?
Do people look at greeting cards more than the first time they read it? I'm not talking about the funny ones that might be worth showing a friend. I'm talking about your basic, "Happy Valentine's Day, signed Cleophus"
Is there a logical reason why keeping a card a week is better than keeping a card for 10 minutes? As I type this I realize that there does seem to be something wrong with immediately throwing a card away. I admit that. If there wasn't I would never have put up the story in the first place. I just want to know WHY it is so wrong.
What do you think?
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

My Mother is a very caring and thoughtful person. She raised three boys and held down a full time job. She even did crafts and sold them as hobby. I don't think I ever heard her say a curse word stronger than "shit". She rarely drinks and has never smoked. She is well liked in the small town I am from and where she still lives. She always remembers birthdays and other holidays. I wouldn't go so far as to say she is a saint but she is a genuinely good person.
The reason I am telling you this is because I am not nearly as thoughtful as she is. My Mom out of the goodness of her heart sent me a Valentine. She took the time out of her day and went and spent some money on a card for me and probably my brothers and some other friends and relatives.
I am not very sentimental. I don't keep cards or letters unless they were from a very important time in my life.
Just to show you part of the asshole side of my personality let me tell you what I did yesterday when I left my house. I grabbed the card out of my mailbox. The return address was from my Mom. It was obviously a card from the shape of the envelope. I thought to myself, "Why is my Mom sending me a card?"
I realized Valentine's Day is Wednesday. I opened the card during my walk to my car. I read the card. I put the card back in the envelope and dropped it in a trash can at the corner of the street.
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

It seems like the latest topic of conversation at the Mag is disgusting things we have seen or at least had heard about.
For example, the time Shawn emptied an airplanes sewage system on himself or the big girl at Sparks that passed out on the dance floor and started to roll around in the bar floor funk and someone noticed, after her skirt came up, that she wasn't wearing any panties and she apparently shaves. Six guys then pick her up and off of the dance floor but she starts to vomit. The six guys drop her and another six guys pick her up and just as they are getting to the front door she shits herself. Needless to say the six guys drop her. One month later, she shows up with a hair cut and a dye job but everyone that witnessed the incident were not fooled.
There was another story from Sparks about this couple that had sex on a toilet in the ladies room. That toilet had been overflowing all night. When he was told to take a shower to wash the filth off when he got home he said, "Don't worry I put toilet paper on the seat."
I saw a guy that had passed out on the toilet in the men's room at Sparks and his pants were down around his ankles which were resting in about an inch and a half of urine. Later that night I saw him walking around the bar with wet pants.
Not that I have throughly disgusted you... enjoy your Monday.
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.

I went to the Mire show last night and I saw a good show.
Drew did a real good job as the new lead singer. I saw so many familiar faces. It was great to hear many of those songs again.
It was really weird to see Mire play without Kevin but I think its a something that probably should have happen a while ago and I hope they are successful.
Sorry for the short post but I need to go to bed.
Good Night, Good Morning, whatever.
